This place changed and saved my life. They are the most caring, supportive, friendly and loving people willing to do anything to help you get better. I made a lot of friends that I will forever be in contact with. I also built real relationships with every staff member. I miss every client and every staff member I met at SVR. This place makes you feel like your home and you feel 100% safe and comfortable. Couldn’t be more blessed for better help and I will forever be in debt with them.

SVR is a wonderful facility that caters to each client’s individual needs and goals for recovery and mental health! It is recovery that feels like home. I know many people that have gone through this program and come back stronger and happier than ever before. From the friendly staff and community events to the home cooked meals, this is truly a one-of-a-kind place that cares about the overall success of each client. The CEO is very hands-on in the program, and all staff is approachable, relatable and empathetic. To anyone seeking enrichment in their life for substance and mental health treatment, let this be your first choice in getting the help you need.

My experience at Silicon Valley Recovery was outstanding. The chef-prepared meals were excellent and made my stay much more comfortable. The IMS medical staff were knowledgeable, compassionate, and always available when I needed support. The staff and counselors genuinely cared about my recovery and provided guidance every step of the way. I especially enjoyed the weekend outings and activities, which helped create a positive and supportive environment. The family sessions were extremely helpful in rebuilding communication and strengthening relationships with my loved ones. I also appreciated the thoughtful recommendations they provided for PHP (Partial Hospitalization Program) care and how they helped connect me with a good placement that fit my individual needs after treatment. I highly recommend Silicon Valley Recovery to anyone looking for quality care, professional support, and a team that is truly invested in long-term recovery.

SVR was an amazing experience. It came highly recommended and i was taken well care of. Detox was painless and the nurses were very attentive. The staff and programming was fun and engaging. I especially liked the pottery and candle making activities that allowed me to give my kids a handmade gift on visitation Sundays. They also laughed at all my stupid jokes and put up with all of my shenanigans (Hi Thomas). My biggest complaint is all the gourmet meals and a full snack kitchen. I can no longer fit into my boxer briefs. They did bought me socks when i forgot them. Thank you SVR for making my recovery smooth and pleasant. Big kudos for going above and beyond accommodating my visual handicap and taking me to the hospital when my diverticulitis had complications. -Joe F

Family Therapy Program and Addiction Treatment

“Addiction is a family disease” is a popular phrase that gets used in the addiction field. The phrase means the actions of one person who is struggling with addiction will affect the entire family on different levels.

With a medical professional or interventionist present, everyone involved can become aware of ways they have contributed to various problems within the family dynamic. In such cases, family members may benefit from structured sessions that help improve communication and resolve conflicts while gaining an understanding of the situation and how it’s affecting the person who is seeking treatment.

Family members of someone with an addiction can play a vital role in the success or failure of their attempt at recovery. In order for family support to have beneficial results, the therapist must work closely together and come up with strategies that are best suited for each individual person’s situation, to make sure nobody is enabling their loved one, and to make sure they’re all handling the stages of change in healthy ways.

Silicon Valley Recovery’s professionally designed programs balance physical recovery and mental health with access to resources that help people confront their behaviors without being harshly judged or mistreated.

The skills learned through the family therapy program at Silicon Valley Recovery will prepare you for a healthy lifestyle outside the program and equip you with the tools needed to handle cravings and minimize the chance of relapsing.

What are the 5 stages of family therapy?

The five stages of family therapy are:

1) Engagement, where the therapist builds rapport with the family;

How to become a MFT in Utah?

To become a Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT) in Utah, you must earn a master’s or doctoral degree in marriage and family therapy or a related field from a regionally accredited institution. Complete 4,000 hours of supervised clinical experience, with at least 1,000 hours in direct client contact. Pass the national MFT exam and apply for licensure through the Utah Division of Occupational and Professional Licensing.

What is the difference between family counseling and family therapy?

Family counseling typically focuses on addressing specific issues or conflicts within a family, often providing short-term support and guidance. It aims to improve communication and resolve immediate problems. Family therapy, on the other hand, delves deeper into underlying patterns and dynamics, often involving longer-term treatment to address more complex emotional and psychological issues within the family system.

How long does it take to become an MFT in California?

Becoming an MFT in California typically takes about 6-8 years. This includes earning a bachelor’s degree (4 years), completing a master’s program in marriage and family therapy or a related field (2-3 years), and fulfilling the required 3,000 hours of supervised experience, which can take 1-2 years. Additionally, passing the licensing exams is necessary to become fully licensed.

Is becoming an MFT worth it?

The worth of becoming an MFT depends on personal goals and values. MFTs often find fulfillment in helping individuals and families improve their relationships and mental health. The career offers opportunities for growth and specialization, but it also requires a significant investment in education and training. Consider factors like job satisfaction, salary expectations, and the demand for MFTs in your area when deciding.

What type of therapist makes the most money?

Psychiatrists typically earn the highest salaries among therapists due to their medical training and ability to prescribe medication. They often work in hospitals, private practices, or clinics, and their extensive education and expertise in mental health treatment contribute to their higher earning potential compared to other types of therapists.
