This place changed and saved my life. They are the most caring, supportive, friendly and loving people willing to do anything to help you get better. I made a lot of friends that I will forever be in contact with. I also built real relationships with every staff member. I miss every client and every staff member I met at SVR. This place makes you feel like your home and you feel 100% safe and comfortable. Couldn’t be more blessed for better help and I will forever be in debt with them.

SVR is a wonderful facility that caters to each client’s individual needs and goals for recovery and mental health! It is recovery that feels like home. I know many people that have gone through this program and come back stronger and happier than ever before. From the friendly staff and community events to the home cooked meals, this is truly a one-of-a-kind place that cares about the overall success of each client. The CEO is very hands-on in the program, and all staff is approachable, relatable and empathetic. My experience at Silicon Valley Recovery was outstanding. The chef-prepared meals were excellent and made my stay much more comfortable. The IMS medical staff were knowledgeable, compassionate, and always available when I needed support. The staff and counselors genuinely cared about my recovery and provided guidance every step of the way. I especially enjoyed the weekend outings and activities, which helped create a positive and supportive environment. The family sessions were extremely helpful in rebuilding communication and strengthening relationships with my loved ones. I also appreciated the thoughtful recommendations they provided for PHP (Partial Hospitalization Program) care and how they helped connect me with a good placement that fit my individual needs after treatment. I highly recommend Silicon Valley Recovery to anyone looking for quality care, professional support, and a team that is truly invested in long-term recovery.

SVR was an amazing experience. It came highly recommended and i was taken well care of. Detox was painless and the nurses were very attentive. The staff and programming was fun and engaging. I especially liked the pottery and candle making activities that allowed me to give my kids a handmade gift on visitation Sundays. They also laughed at all my stupid jokes and put up with all of my shenanigans (Hi Thomas). My biggest complaint is all the gourmet meals and a full snack kitchen. I can no longer fit into my boxer briefs. They did bought me socks when i forgot them. Thank you SVR for making my recovery smooth and pleasant. Big kudos for going above and beyond accommodating my visual handicap and taking me to the hospital when my diverticulitis had complications. -Joe F

Common

Withdrawal Symptoms

Detox from marijuana causes uncomfortable symptoms, especially in heavy long-term users. During the first two weeks after stopping marijuana use, you may experience the following withdrawal symptoms:

Cannabis Cravings

irritability

Anxiety

Headaches

Stomach Pains

Restlessness

Increased Anger

Sleep Difficulty

Strange Dreams

Increased Aggression

Unusual Sweating

Depressed Mood

Loss of Appetite

Shakiness

Nausea

Your doctor may ask you to take medications to relieve some of these symptoms. For example, antidepressants can help lift your mood and control anxiety symptoms, and painkillers reduce headaches. If you have a sleep problem, your doctor may give you a sleeping aid. These symptoms begin to wane two days after abstinence and continue to become less intense until you gain full recovery within 4 weeks. Detox professionals provide appropriate services throughout the detox and help you cope with uncomfortable symptoms.

Marijuana Detox

Treatments

Medications

So far, no approved medication to treat marijuana withdrawal exists. However, based on experience, a doctor may recommend medications to treat sleep problems, relieve anxiety, and control pain. Notably, these drugs are used only for a short period.

Talk Therapy

Also called psychotherapy, talk therapy teaches you coping skills, life skills, and methods to prevent relapse. Besides, you can learn techniques to replace problematic thoughts with positive ones with the help of a licensed mental health counselor or therapist.

How Long Does Marijuana

Stay in the System

Marijuana may show up on a drug test up to 3 months after the last use. The detection window varies according to the type of testing.
Detox From Marijuana

Blood

A blood sample usually contains detectable THC for up to 7 days. Rarely, some users may test positive after 25 days.
Detox From Marijuana

Urine

A urine sample may contain detectable metabolites for up to 4 weeks.
Detox From Marijuana

Saliva

Cannabis may be present in saliva for 1 to 3 days in infrequent users. In long-term heavy users, it may be detectable for 1 to 30 days.
Detox From Marijuana

Hair

Detectable cannabinoids may be present in hair samples for up to 3 months.

Safety

Is Self Detox Safe?

Though marijuana withdrawal symptoms are rarely life-threatening, experts don’t recommend at-home detox. This is because detoxing in usual environments increases the risk of relapse. Cravings are most intense during the early few days of abstinence. Attempting unsupervised detox during this period makes you more likely to use marijuana again. Moreover, some heavy users may develop dangerous symptoms, such as panic attacks, excessive vomiting, and psychosis-like signs. In such medically critical situations, immediate medical care is essential. Notably, there is considerable variability in response to marijuana withdrawal. It is best to seek professional help from addiction specialists to improve your chances of transitioning to a drug-free life.

FAQs

What is the best detox for marijuana?

The best detox for marijuana involves a combination of hydration, a balanced diet, exercise, and time. Drinking plenty of water helps flush out toxins, while a healthy diet supports the body’s natural detox processes. Regular exercise boosts metabolism and aids in toxin elimination. Time is crucial, as the body needs it to naturally cleanse itself of THC.

What's the fastest way to clear your system?

The fastest way to clear your system is to stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water, which helps flush out toxins. Engaging in regular physical activity can also boost your metabolism and aid in detoxification. Consuming a balanced diet rich in fiber, fruits, and vegetables supports the body’s natural cleansing processes. Avoiding processed foods, alcohol, and caffeine can further enhance the body’s ability to detoxify efficiently.

How long does it take to fully clean out your system?

The time it takes to fully clean out your system depends on various factors, including the substance involved, frequency of use, metabolism, age, weight, and overall health. Generally, it can range from a few days to several weeks. Hydration, diet, and exercise can influence the detoxification process. For specific substances, consult a healthcare professional for tailored advice.

How do I detox my body in 24 hours?

To detox your body in 24 hours, focus on hydration by drinking plenty of water and herbal teas. Consume light, nutritious meals rich in fruits and vegetables. Avoid processed foods, caffeine, and alcohol. Engage in light exercise like walking or yoga to stimulate circulation. Prioritize rest and relaxation to support your body’s natural detoxification processes.

What drug stays in your system the longest?

The drug that stays in your system the longest is typically cannabis. THC, the active compound in cannabis, can be detected in urine for up to 30 days or more, especially in regular users. Infrequent users may test positive for a shorter period, usually up to 10 days. Other factors like metabolism, body fat, and frequency of use can influence detection times.
